Seaside Walk

Wednesday when Geoff arrived home from work we decided to drive to Mudanya or more particularly Guzelayli, which is the port village for the ferry to and from Istanbul, to take a walk along the ocean.  Our weather is thinking about autumn, as our temps are in the 80's in the day and 60's at night, very pleasant for being outside.   We saw an area that we had not been to before, other than to drive into and load on the ferry.  You see so much more just walking up and down.    We  discovered a "beach" , maybe not what we would consider a beach, but a beach area non the less.  There were docked little fishing boats, people out enjoying each others company and the ocean air.  There were multiple vendors along the way, fishermen on a rocky point and we watched the evening ferry arrive, dock and unload.  And of course got stuck in the exiting traffic. There is a smorgasbord of photos below that we shot to document the evening.

"The Beach"  gritty, grainy sand, but the water is crystal clear

Fishing boats and view around the point

All the lampposts along the boardwalk were made of tree trunks of similar shape
Seaweed or some form of sea life growing on the rocks

View down a walkway to housing. There are so many apartment buildings, that I am sure there aren't very many with a view.

Across to the point where the ferry arrives

Steps to nowhere really, unless you want to walk on the rock shoreline

Fishermen at dusk.  We witnessed at least one fish caught.

The "walking cane club" enjoying a few minutes of air before going in to prepare the final Ramazan meal.  This was the final day of Ramazan before Party Time!!

The second fleet

The sun just starting to set across the bay

The ferry arriving.  The picture doesn't do it justice as far as size.  This is the one we take to Istanbul.

Sign self explanatory.  The entrance to the docks.
