Mudanya and the Marmara Sea

These horse and carts share the road with the cars - amazing!
Village and mosque on the way down to the sea.

View across the valley full of agriculture, fruit, olive, fig, orchards

First view of the Marmara Sea and the village on it's shores.

More fields of produce, right down to the sea.

Mudanya is a fishing village, but also is one of the two ports for the ferry boats (car and/or people) that transport to and from Istanul. It is about 1-1/2 hour across. To drive would take about 4 hours. There is a long boardwalk that is very popular and it was interesting to sit and watch the passing parade. The shoreline, which is actually rocky, is not a swimming beach, although we happened upon a break in the boardwalk and restaurants all along to find adults and children on the small rocky shore.
