HOME AGAIN, HOME AGAIN

The following photos are a smorgasbord of the sites/views we saw on our way out of Ephesus back to our home in Bursa.  

 Mandarins were in season and there were orchard, after orchard, after orchard.  And yes, we took four that were hanging on a branch out over a fence into the road, and they were really good, fresh, right from the tree.

 Beautiful vistas across hundreds of olive orchards intermingled with pine trees.  The olives were in various stages of ripening.  November is apparently the month of the olive harvest, but we did not see any evidence of that.

One last view of the Citadel from a different road.

Vineyards with their autumn colors, butting up to olive orchards, butting up to pine trees going up the mountains.

And almost home, at Karacabay, mile after mile of roadside vendors selling "ananas melons", or "pineapple melon".  The skin is a bright yellow, with an ivory or pale yellow flesh.  It is generally firm and quite fragrant, supposedly with a slight pineapple scent, hence the name, but I don't think it smelled or tasted like a pineapple, although it was a sweet melon.  This vendor also had a large array of pottery and statue items.
