I was privileged to be there when Captain Richard Frank was promoted to Major Richard Frank. Not something I had ever seen before, it was all new and interesting, the formalities of military life. There were a lot of friends and co-workers there to see him receive his new rank. Congratulations Rick on a job well done and good luck as you work toward that next promotion. Hope I am there to see that one too. (Sorry some of the photos are blurry, having issues with my camera with the lights and movement.)
Megan wanted to do a joke on Rick, so she had this little cake made for him and told him the original order had not been received and this was all she could get on short notice....
His reaction, after the initial 'you have got to be kidding me', was to laugh. What else could he do....
Then the real cake was brought out.
Megan wanted the girls to match for the promotion, so I got the pleasure of sewing dresses for each of them. Designs by Mom Mom! Natty ever the poser.
Sisters, they love each other. Natty looking coy and Gabby just a little mysterious with the hat down over her eyes.
There, now isn't that better; I look beautiful for my Daddy.
Our three beautiful girls.
Colonel Baker giving an introductory speech.
Receiving his commission to promote from the White House.
Megan pinning, or as she said, Velcro-ing, his maple leaf for Major rank.
Thanking all his co-workers for the step stool they go lovingly gave him. Hmmmm....
The new Major, his family and Colonel Baker.
