Two weeks after I arrived was moving day. They moved from off base housing to one on base...closer to office, school, friends, playground. An all around good choice. A contracted company moved them...was a little different from any move I have ever made. It was all packed, loaded, unloaded and partially unpacked in 4 hours. Yep, 4 hours. But, it took a few hours longer to sort out some of the mess left behind when they unpacked ALL the kitchen boxes and 'stuffed' them in any drawer or cabinet available. Same with the clothes and bathroom items. We eventually got it all sorted out and things in their right rooms, and they now have a nice place to live for the remainder of their time there, which is just under 2 years.
The 'bat mobile' moving van. Both sides opened like this.
These reusable crates are what they packed 90% of their goods in, which is why they 'unpack' them at the other end. They did use boxes to pack some items in.
Packing up and about ready to roll.
The new digs, top floor (penthouse?); the small patio is the master bedroom window, the one around the corner (to left) is the patio off the living and dining rooms. They have amazing views, on a clear, non humid day!
This is a view from their patio across the play/park area to the housing building just like theirs. Another building is to the left. Lots of space for Natty to ride her bike safely.
Natty waving to us from one of the playgrounds below.
Parking garage tunnel, bar-b-q area, and tennis and basket ball courts.
View towards the mountains they took me for a hike in. Field after field of rice, which was being harvested while I was there.
View in the opposite direction, with market gardens. Never could figure out what they were growing, nothing looked familiar. Come to think of it, a lot of the food was strange too.
