Enter Old Antalya

Two old relics outside an older Hadrian's Gate. This gate dates back to AD 130, built to honor the Roman Emperor Hadrian. For years it was encased in the walls by the rule of the Seljuk and was uncovered in the 1950's and restored. The Plexiglas walkway you can see behind us in the center arch, is a covering over the original wheel ruts in the stone.

Which direction should we go and which site to see next?

How about one of the many winding market streets. These bazaar streets are so interesting, anything from tourist trap souvenirs, to everyday markets for the locals, to antique shops. You never know what any given street will have to offer.

Spice dealer. Look how many there are, and they have all been made into the shape of a pyramid. If only you knew what they all were. The smell is wonderful though.

These men had their table set up on the side of the road, under a tree, next to the old walls. They were seriously into this number game, not dominoes we were told, but a tile game where they had to get all numbers in a row. The two guides told us "boring". Still interesting to see.
