Living Room

Some have asked for pictures of the house once we got the furniture in to see what it looks like then, so am posting some photos of the living/dining area, our "den" area, and the entry.  They are done for the most part, except for curtains, which you just can't go and buy "off the rack" like in US.  They hang a special way, from the ceiling, and are all custom made.  There are also no ceiling fixtures.  Apparently the owners of this condo didn't see fit to put any in, or it is our responsibility.  Don't think so, but we are following up on that.  So for now, bare bulbs on a hang down wire.  Very elegant.  We will eventually find rugs for the floors and I have to stain the big book cases, but it will be a nice home for the next several years.  The bedrooms are still 'in progress'.  Requires some sewing projects on my part.

Looking Towards Dining

Dining Area
Looking into our "Den"  That was actually the dining room, but we used the bookshelves that we had from one of our bedrooms at home and made a divider and turned it into our den/computer/play area for the grandkids.  It is actually our favorite space to chill.  The doors look out to the gardens.

This is our "den" area, and will look a little homier with a rug on the floor and the rest of the pictures hung, once we decide which one.  Hanging a picture on the wall is quite a process.  It requires power tools!!  I can't just hammer a nail in the wall and hang them all in a few minutes.  With cement walls, it requires a little more effort, and two of us.  You can't "redo" because you can't easily patch the wall.
